​The 2022 FRC Game, FIRST® Rapid React

​The Field

In FIRST Rapid React, two alliances race to score cargo balls into the lower and upper hubs, starting from their respective tarmacks.  Additional points are earned by traversing the rung of their hanger.

Game Pieces

The game piece used in FIRST Rapid React is the cargo balls, a 9½ in. diameter fuzz surfaced ball that must be shot into two different levels of port, the lower, and upper hubs for varying point values.

Autonomous Period

During the 15 second autonomous period, bots leave their tarmac, score pre-loaded cargo and collect and score additional cargo, all without any driver input.

Teleoperated Period

During the remaining 2 minutes and 15 seconds, the drivers control the bots to complete the various goals and to climb at the very end.

Scoring

Alliances compete to earn ranking points. Ranking points are awarded for winning, and tieing matches, for completing the ball placement and control panel, and for climbing balanced at the end of the match.
